Wrap Up: The Gift Of Cosy

The Gift Of Cosy on vickiarcher.com

I’m obsessed with feeling cosy.

Cosy is a favourite pastime of mine but lately more than ever for all the obvious reasons.

A few years ago, for the purpose of travel, I discovered the cashmere poncho or wrap. The poncho and I were never great mates until this time; I had very biased thoughts towards this piece leftover from my teenage days. The poncho or wrap was one for others. How silly of me – they are the best and especially for snuggling up and keeping warm. I have even come around to a bit of fringing or a tassel or two. How our ideas and feeling change over time?

When do you wear a cashmere wrap? Or rug up in the poncho?

Pretty much anytime is my answer. In my “past life” I have worn mine out at night over a dress and now I wear it wrapped up in front of Netflix. Christmas is looming and I’m fancying a new one, maybe in camel or cream to add to my cosy assortment.

A scarf twisted around the neck kicks the whole idea up a notch.

Still, looking for gift inspiration? I’d go cosy – for you and for them. xv

Yes, yes, yes to these colourful cuties.

I’d take one in every colour.

For the one who has everything? Not this.

Love wraps rather than ponchos. Latter are non so comfy when you want to take them off in a restaurant or any other place because you have to cover it over your head (hair)
I have my black wrap with leather frings already more than 20 yrs from Castelbajac and I guess I will keep them for the rest of my life.

Along with my wrap I have a button magnet that keeps it in place. Love my wrap, even over a winter coat for extra warmth!

Good morning Vicki!

Me too, I have embraced “cozy” in more ways than I imagined over the last eight months. I always reserved this state of being for the weekends, for Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks to leave behind a busy teacher schedule in order to come up for air. Now, it’s part of my daily life, as it is for so many and I’ve had to adjust to accepting it as a way to cope. What better way, however, to live quietly in something warm, beautiful and stylish!

“Live quietly”… you have such a way with words, Anita… I am certainly living life very quietly… :)

Love the cashmere ponchos. I have a cotton one I wear in the summer. The cashmere poncho has been on my list for a long time..love that sweater from Everlane.

Vicki, have a wonderful holiday!

Hello Vicky I hope you’re feeling better, and I wish you a very very Merry Christmas to you and your family. I must admit I’ve succumb to the cashmere poncho and I have several different colours. Then I came across a poncho made in New Zealand and it has possum fur in it, it is divinely warm and so snuggly something to consider
