Window shopping at 239 rue Saint Honoré means roses, roses and more roses.
Dani Roses, next to Hotel Costes is irresistible. This floral Aladdin’s cave was bursting with the palest shades; the barest pinks, musky lilacs and lavenders, tender apricots and mocha tinged petals blended together to create the most sublime and overwhelming bouquets.
Why am I so set in my floral ways? One colour and one variety has been my way when arranging flowers; after my vist to Dani Roses I’m going to be more creative. The mix of shades felt as one and the subtle nuances gave such a delicacy to their bunches that I was completely smitten.
Rue Saint Honoré is always a highlight and as many times as I have stood outside Dani Roses, gazed in the windows and sighed with delight, the floral explosion and the extravagance of the roses never becomes commonplace.
Further down the rue Saint Honoré in the Chanel make-up and fragrance store I was again reminded of these glorious shades. It was as if the roses and the new range from Rouge Coco were working together to tempt me.
Of course I was tempted: Who am I kidding?
I can never walk past that little shop and nor can I resist a new shade or two of lipstick. We all know it is the best feel good value of all. Besides, can there ever be too many lipsticks? It is the one feminine cure that must be taken. Therapy in a tube.
The new shades are exactly as the roses, perfection. I am by no means retiring my reds, but I am indulging in a little springtime fling… xv
