Every year the wardrobe blossoms, despite its regular pruning.
Especially in Provence; here the closets are undisciplined and don’t care a bit for my streamlined sense of living. I know I should be tougher on them and yet they have a reason for their acquisitive behaviour. What goes around does come back around. My French closet proves that.
I admit to one sneaky habit.
When I streamline in the city I often save pieces and bring them to France. Not sensible, I agree. Is it ridiculous to carry clothing from one country to the next? Absolutely.
Sometimes I can’t help it.
As with all bad habits there does come a time to rectify the situation; I am trying. At the same time I have rediscovered the dim distant past is back on point.
There are several fashion trends that have re-appeared this year and so shopping the closet at the same time as facing the spring-cleaning is a win/win.
That’s my “Provencal” logic, xv.
Re-Trending, Re-Cycling And Re-Wearing
The Slip Dress
I must have loved these in my past lives.
They are back and I am going to put them at the front of the wardrobe to wear with a cute jacket/cardigan. One may even make a return journey to the city.
The Mule Flat
Did I really save these for a rainy day?
So glad I did; the slip on flat is back on top this season and I love the slip on with the slip dress.
The Fancy Sleeve
Happy days, the long sleeve is back.
Creative sleeves are doing the rounds; the really good news is they are flattering.
The Pleated Skirt
Twirling in pleats is back.
I remember Tom Ford’s first collections for Gucci were full of pretty pleated georgette skirts; great shape and great length.
Where are those when I need them?
The Lace Everything
Lace skirts, tees, blouses and dresses.
The lace piece is never out but is particularly in this year.
ps
come with me around provence; i won’t promise to show you inside my cupboards but i will show you everything else :)
