Detour: On The Via Roma

Luisa Via Roma, Florence on vickiarcher.comOn the Via Roma in Firenze there is a most wondrous place.

Do you know it? Luisa Via Roma, the Italian boutique.

Luisa Via Roma is as much a part of a Florentine visit as is the Ponte de Vecchio or the Uffizi Gallery because it is so much more than a boutique or an Italian fashion sensation. Walking into Luisa Via Roma is an experience; an explosion of colour, of brilliant styling and curating. Looking around cannot help but make you feel joyous and wonder why you aren’t putting the allegro Italian-style into fashion.

I love the Italians.

Their adventurous nature and oftentimes eccentricity shines brightly when it comes to fashion. I will never be as brave with colour, with pattern and the mixing of the two but I deeply admire Italians and their never ending and refreshing viewpoint.

Florence is a favourite city. Florence has it all.

The obvious beauty, art and culture is enough to make the heart sing for a lifetime, add a large dose of incredible style and inspiration and there cannot be enough visits.

Luisa Via Roma is another side of Florence, a different world to explore. I find I am inspired with their fashion displays and their buy. It’s not the same as a tour through the Palazzo Pitti or a stroll around the Boboli Gardens but it is a heap of fun. When the mind is in overload and you are ready to leave the Renaissance for the contemporary, Via Roma is your detour.

I can get lost on their website for hours and yes, I wish I could, “illegally download clothes.” I don’t know who said this but when I am online with Luisa Via Roma it has crossed my mind ;) Fashion can be a naughty temptress.

Florence can’t always be on the immediate itinerary; a browse and click is a dose of Italian glamour without leaving home. Luisa Via Roma online is a destination to search and find something different. Their site is not only fashion but also lifestyle focussed and their edit celebrates the unique.

I promise, wander around the website and take the time, you will be inspired. It’s quirky, definitely different, dream worthy and totally divertimento.

So guess where I plan on visiting once the summer fades and the crowds recede? Via Roma for sure. xv
