Everywhere I look in Paris I see leopard, on the young, on the old and on the in-between.
Coats are a particular favourite this season; all lengths and mostly faux fur or textured fabrics. Scarves, another must have. I don’t think any woman in Paris leaves her apartment without a scarf and the ones I’m seeing are often with a leopard pattern.
This woman in the photograph looked totally fabulous.
She was not young, she was of a ‘certain age’ and her hair was a natural grey. She wore smart trainers in black and her soft tote handbag was in a shade of grey not dissimilar to her hair. I had never thought of putting pale grey with leopard, but it worked.
She walked with purpose on her way to FIAC at the Grand Palais and she was a standout. All those words that I and many others have written about confidence being the French woman’s secret weapon are true.
When you see someone as stylish as this, with flair and older than yourself it makes you stop, look, take note and want to go home and change.
Leopard might be the new black, especially in Paris. xv
