It’s been wet… so wet…
New York has turned on the weather… literally.
Thank goodness for the trench.

When it’s not your town somehow it doesn’t matter so much… patience levels are much higher.
I’m not a fan of the rain, especially the kind of rain that soaks through to the bone, frizzes the hair and smudges the mascara… yet because I am excited to be in New York… I don’t mind… I’m enjoying the variations.

Like the sounds.
The honking horns stuck in traffic… They are an orchestra.
One starts … I think of the first as the conductor… and then the rest chime in… it’s as if they are lead by a maestro. Different pitches, different distances… different vehicles.
An urban symphony.

The colours…
Grey, washed out and muted… so much more moody than a blue sky day.
The skyscrapers cloaked in misty mystery… barely showing themselves.
Illusions of grandeur, playing peek-a-boo.

The billboards…
Popping all over the city.
As the architecture is hidden in the storm, the advertising appears larger and more prominent… almost Gatsby-esque.
A clever side-effect… when I saw this Rag & Bone beauty wearing the Talia V Neck… I was sold.
Love the length, the retro feel… and perfect with the white jeans or a fuller skirt.
It won’t be raining every day… xv
