Travel packing is a little hit and miss.
Mostly, I worked it well except for one essential.
I should have packed more white shirts and I wish I had included a varied selection to wear.
Long sleeves, short sleeves, collars or not; the white shirt has no rules.
I have experienced all seasons in the ten days I have been travelling and a better selection of white shirts would have helped.
The long or cropped white shirt, the black pants and a great pair of heels or flats goes anywhere and holds its own. I saw women of every age wearing this exact outfit and they all looked unique and without exception, fabulous. Monochrome works.
On an aside, the 3 Shoe Rule was observed. Three pairs left London although I did cheat in New York and add one more pair to my bag; it was impossible to resist New York’s temptation. I wish I had thought to stock up on white shirts, that would have been way more sensible.
Next time you travel, I cannot recommend the white shirt enough and don’t stop at one like I did. I regretted it every day as I searched my suitcase for inspiration.
Perhaps a wardrobe of white shirts is the answer… xv
