I have had not only a feast for the eyes this weekend… but also a culinary feast.
I had forgotten how delicious all things Italian can be… dare I mention the pastries, the pasta, the pizza and the poisson.
From coffee and macarons at Caffe Florian
to the view and a bellini or two at Harry’s Bar
an apero at the Gritti Palace
All thing Venetian… all things wonderful
I have thoroughly indulged and loved every second
Especially the quiet morning walks… the sound of the church bells ringing in early Mass… and the soft echoes of a few early risers crossing the square
Beauty all around… above and beyond me
The colours of Venice… the empty cafes… ready and waiting… the chairs, little bursts of sunshine… inviting.
The worn patina of the buildings.. unchanged… a palette impossible to replicate.
That’s Venice… xv
