I am on the fringe about the fringe.
Everywhere I turn I am confronted by a flare and tormented by a tassle. I don’t feel the 70’s were my favourite fashion moment so I am seriously considering whether to buy into it or not.
Yes, fringed jackets and boots look super cool but I am thinking they may not be for me. Perhaps I should step back? I already had my turn. Am I regretting tossing my vintage suede “cowboy’ style fringed jacket years ago? Yes, that jacket would have been perfect for this season.
Will I invest heavily into the ’70’s and fringing again? I can’t see it.
What I will do, because fashion is all about interpreting trends for ourselves and for our individual style, is be au courant by venturing small into the fringe.
A pair of sandals and a fun fringed tote will work with my classic way of dressing; it is probably about as boho as I can do. Fringing is a fabulous accent: I need to be selective in how and where to wear it.
If you want to buy in, but not buy in if you see what I mean, then I have found the perfect fringe accessories. I think I will call these fringe suede sandals and this crochet tote, this Friday’s “fabulous finds”.
Do you know what I mean? xv
