Egg boutique, a stylish little gem, is hidden away in Knightsbridge.
Located on a narrow side street, Egg is co-owned and founded by Maureen Doherty. This unique English store has been renovated from a stable into an eccentric whitewashed shop. However, many of its original features remain such as the giant barn doors and the uneven cobblestone floor.
Egg houses an extensive collection of white garments, accented with natural shades of grey and black and occasionally a tiny pop of colour. As well as clothing, you can also find handcrafted household objects and ceramics.
This boutique feels like an elegant home.
A type of clothing-art installation, with all products presented in an understated fashion, simply hanging on hooks or folded on tables.
The influence of Eastern dressing and style is clearly portrayed in the designs. Chic soft cuts and luxurious fabrics are used to make the iconic pieces. Doherty says she enjoys designing at her own pace and doing what she loves. She creates what she wants whether it is in fashion or not.
Her garments are sophisticated and effortlessness, making them classic and timeless.
‘If it feels good, it looks good’ is Doherty’s mantra.
Her emphasis at Egg is making women feel comfortable. She designs for every figure, and aims to enhance any shape.
It’s a chic little treat not to be missed, xv.
