RUBEAGER BOOTIE || 5050 BOOT || MYGUY FLAT || MULETOWN MULE
Is there any such thing as wardrobe essentials when it comes to shoes?
I think there is.
For me, it’s boots, flats and mules.
I wear them all year, anytime and anyplace. They just work with everything.
On holiday recently and shopping with a gal pal we went searching for boots. One name came up, Stuart Weitzman. I pretty much love every boot ever designed and while we have different taste, she echoed my sentiments. We didn’t start out with a fixed mind-set, we were open to all ideas, but we came home with yet again, fabulous Stuart Weitzman.
Being less practical, I was focussed on how the boots looked; she is much more sensible than I and had her thoughts placed where they should be, on comfort. I am a little bit practical; a handsome pair of shoes can easily seduce me. Luckily, the Stuart Weitzman’s are not only comfortable but also very good-looking. We both walked away happy.
Recently Stuart Weitzman has launched The Icons campaign, featuring Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid. Yes, they both look sensational but it’s the boots that have my heart beating. They just work for all ages. I am a major fan of the 5050 and RESERVE – they give the impression of being over the knee without really being too over the knee. Not to mention, they actually cover my knees. Dare I admit the knees look better covered? Who am I kidding? Of course, they do. Wear these boots with any dress and the outfit gears up a notch.
Then I am seriously in love with the MULETOWN– it’s the sweetest slip-on in a variety of silk satin shades. We fell for that one too. If you love vintage paste, they are the perfect pair to add a pin or two on top. The MYGUY flat is a loafer to love. This shoe is beautifully crafted and a refreshing change if you are one for simplicity and elegance. Once you slip into these, it’s hard to swap.
I needed to come home from holiday with a suitcase full of new shoes – not really – but they were too wonderful to leave. Besides, the three-shoe-rule only applies on departure.
These Icons, whichever ones are your favourites, should never be neglected simply because they aren’t the newest kids on the block. I am guilty of rushing out and wanting the latest and greatest.
These still are the latest and greatest. xv
