It’s very quiet here… Apart from the birds, a few shots from the hunters and an occasional chuckle from Apache… there is nothing but the sounds of silence.
The light is clear… so clear that there is a bluish grey tinge over the farm
I look at the fruit trees, pruned and prepped… waiting for their springtime curtain call… and I see the softness of winter colour… the grass, the trunks and the fluffy tops of the olive trees blending so delicately into the lines of cyprus.
February is a clean up month… a pruning month… a time to catch up before the olive trees and all their needs claim our attention once again…
The wood is stacked… the storm of last week felled several large trees… We need to think about planting… it’s always give and take in the countryside…
and the hellebores are smiling… sweet little winter faces… quite alone in the garden… in these winter months…
Have a fabulous day… I’m off to the flea markets to search for treasure… I have been looking through my stash of books to train my eye and gather ideas for Le Petit Bijou…
See you next week… xv
