The Maxi: The Most Flattering Piece Of The Season

the top five maxi skirts this season

Is the maxi skirt.

Maxis are out and about this season but when you think about it a long skirt has always been a fashion staple.

Maxis are being worn in various different ways; game changer for the wardrobe.

The maxi is no longer the-going-out-somewhere-formal-wardrobe piece; this skirt is for all day and every day.

Same piece, new look: I like that.

There are denim maxis, floral maxis and ethnic inspired maxis floating about.

The maxi I am adding to my wardrobe is the simple black one. Yes, it is a slightly longer black skirt but call it whatever, this works with just about everything.

Most fashion pieces are about re-invention. The maxi skirt is a classic piece; it is how we style it that puts it in play.

How To Wear The Maxi

*Maxi up with a tailored white shirt or a tee. Monochrome and maxi are the favourite “M and M’s” this season. Add the white denim jacket and a pair of lace-up espadrilles.

Dress the maxi with the decorative; a peplum or lace style blouse works beautifully with the maxi. Contrast the black skirt with ivory embroidery.

Wear the maxi with a racer back style tank and add a cute cropped jacket.

Are you going maxi this season? xv
