The Beauty Detective: Eye Spy

beauty-detective-eye-spy-vicki-archer

Eye spy with my little eye.

I have been browsing and re browsing the beauty buys this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale; they are good.

As we always say it pays to take care, look carefully and stock up on what we know, need or have a hankering for.

That’s my mindset when I shop the sales and it truly works. It’s actually a kind of mantra I have when I am purchasing anything new for my wardrobe. I ask myself is it better than something similar I already have, do I need it and will it work with all the rest.

Beauty is very much the same but unlike fashion, I believe we have to be a little more adventurous and re-invent our routines on a regular basis.

Shopping Beauty Sales Is An Art

Much of what we want is bundled in with what we don’t. Combination buys don’t work if 2/3 products aren’t what we like.

Sales are the time to pick up on travel-size favourites and I much prefer those than my own hand-filled messy attempts.

Trial and error is a big factor when it comes to finding our beauty products. Smaller sizes are a brilliant way to trial.

Eye Spy In No Particular Order

5 of the best scents from Diptyque all together in a travel size. Mix the Baies with the Figuier – heavenly.

The softest eye colours from Charlotte Tilbury. I don’t use eyeshadow very often but when I do, this is it.

Laura Mercier’s primer and translucent powder in travel size. I would like a couple of these.

Want the best velvet matte finish for your lips? These Giorgio Armani Maestro lip colours are wonderful.

My daughter loves this from Dr Dennis Gross and it is pretty fabulous. 60 days worth; I am in.

Dior Show Mascara always a winner; this deal includes a travel size.

I want to try more of the Korean range from Sulwhasoo and this is an ideal starter kit.

Need make-up brushes? These from Trish McEvoy are a great buy and the perfect gift for the girls.

All my best ever nude shades from Mac. With this set from Dior, we have these shades covered.

If this is your cream, then now is the moment. This is a huge saving.

Nordstrom has beauty covered all of the time but this year their anniversary edit is perfect for me. There is so much more but I’m starting here. xv

The Giorgio Armani is great isn’t it? I love their CC and BB creams… they are the best! And the Maestro foundation… try that if you haven’t already. x
