Ok, so maybe not these boots.
With all due respect to the designers, I’m not brave enough – wish I was but – No, most likely not.
I do like a boot and I do like a boot with a tight ankle closure; not exactly “sock” but something that emphasises the narrowness of the ankles and legs when they peep out from behind their pants. This style also works well with a longer coat or dress, especially with opaque tights.
Who am I kidding? I love a boot and many varying styles come to think of it. A cowboy works; a chunky heel is a favourite and even a stiletto in the right leather and shape. An over-the-knee, if it’s just right, can do it for me as can a Chelsea shape or riding boot. The only boots I’m not partial to are those that sit under the knee socket; they shorten the leg and oftentimes leave an unfortunate gap between hemline and boot finish. Wonder Woman might be the only exception.
Boots like bags are a wardrobe unto themselves.
This weekend I have found one to add to the collection.
The heel is perfect and not too high or too low; the suede is not only form fitting but also waterproof. It does seem a little too early in the year to talk boots but these are worth popping away for the next few months. They are on sale and won’t be for long.
Black or sapphire works for me; they are a steal with this deal. xv
