Making Every Day A Good Hair Day

brigitte bardot, vickiarcher.com

Making every day a good hair day is easier than you think.

Travelling in particular is challenging for the hair but with a few little tips and tricks it can be super easy.

How To Have A Good Hair Day

*It all starts with a good colour and excellent cut.

Without those two good hair is hard to achieve. Whether you prefer messy like the French or more groomed looks the cut is still number one in importance; even a style that looks thrown together and just-out-of-bed has a good cut.

If you colour, find a colourist you trust and who understands your hair. Severe colour or badly applied colour is the most ageing of all.

About the going grey, now it is done, it does provide a freedom I had lost touch with. I understand it is not for everyone but so far most days I am living with it happily. Grey hair has to be a good hair day every day; otherwise that’s a whole other story.

*The can’t-live-without dry shampoo.

I am late to the party with this one. What a difference a dry shampoo makes. It adds at least another day between washing and it gives the hair an extra fullness that feels natural. I am a convert and it is now my number one hair product. Do you use it? I can’t believe it has taken me all these years to make it a hair necessity. This is my best right now.

*I sound like my mother; a good volumizing hairspray.

I can’t believe I am advocating a super strong hairspray; well I am. At times it is essential and especially if I am wearing my hair tied up or back. Every time I spray I am reminded of “lacquer” and those do’s that would appear impenetrable. Hair Spray has come a long way. I like this one from the same range as the dry shampoo.

*The tools.

“A bad workman always blames his tools.” Not a lot more to say.

The most powerful hairdryer, a super paddle brush, a comb for detangling and a ghd classic straightener if grooming is your go; the non-negotiable hair essentials.

We all have our specific shampoos and conditioners that make for good hair days. Are there other secret hair grooming weapons I need to know about? xv
