Conceal and cover up… it has to be done.

There are several products that really work and that are always on my dressing table.

Concealer, it’s a habit and one I could not live without.

Especially under the eyes and for those areas of pigmentation that never seem to completely fade.

Here are some tips and trips to cover and conceal like a make-up professional.

It takes a little more time and patience but the results are worth it.

Do you have any extra conceal and cover secrets we should know about?

Conceal Those Dark Circles

* Concealer should be a similar shade to the skin under the eye.

*To conceal deep circles look downwards and use a soft concealer brush to apply the product where the darkest shadows appear.

Don’t apply concealer to the entire under eye area only on the dark area.

* As the skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate than the rest of the face be gentle.

Using a creamy concealer is preferable for this area.

* To set the concealer,  avoid creasing and to stop any further eye make-up smudging, dust translucent powder under the eye and along the lower lash line using a small eye shadow brush.

** Try Lancome Effacernes Under Eye Concealer

Cover The Spots

*To conceal a blemish it works to use a slightly drier product, it will provide a heavier coverage.

* Use a dabbing motion with the concealer brush and pat with the fingertip to gently blend.

Be sure not to rub as this will only remove the product… it’s all in the dab.

* Apply translucent powder to the area to set the product and keep it in place.

If extra coverage is needed you can then re-apply the concealer and powder again.

**Try Mac Studio Finish Concealer

Hide The Pigmentation

To cover pigmentation, age spots or minor scarring on the face, Dermablend Smooth Indulgence SPF 20 concealer is the easiest to use, giving a good level of coverage without looking cakey.

The soft creamy formula applies smoothly and once set with translucent powder, will stay in place all day.

* Apply the concealer to the area that needs additional coverage using a concealer brush, and then pat lightly with your fingertips to blend.

* Once you are happy with the coverage, dust the translucent powder over the pigmentation to keep the concealer in place.

Try Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Concealer
