I am all for following tradition.
The Barbour wax jacket has been a British tradition for over 100 years. This all-round weather-proof jacket, mostly made of wax cotton, is a keeper. It might not make the top ten lists of wardrobe essentials but if you live in a climate with plenty of weather, it is a must.
Once upon a time the Barbour jacket was unitary in style and worn only in the great British outdoors. Forget that, it is a fantastic weekend jacket.
Barbour is the traditional go-to when it comes to this style of jacket and it has been given a very cute makeover by Alexa Chung.
The two pictured above are tempting me but also this one from Madewell, completely adorable and easier on the budget.
