There is one key piece that will update your wardrobe this season.
It is super feminine, ultra gorgeous and will put you in the best of moods.
Why?
Because the key piece this season is the longer length skirt. The mid calf or the maxi skirt is cut to be slightly fuller and elongate the silhouette.
It’s about time. I for one am tired of trying to source skirts and dresses that are knee length. Even with the best legs on the planet, the mini has restricted wear at a certain age.
I remember back in ’98 when Sharon Stone walked the red carpet in a Vera Wang maxi skirt and basic white shirt from The Gap. I have always liked the glamorous mixed with the simple, the extravagant with the plain. I see this season’s key piece working like that. A fabulous skirt with an everyday tee, blouse or fitted jacket.
And tulle.
Once upon a time tulle was the exclusive domaine of debutantes and brides. Not any more, tulle is back in a big, big way.
Like leopard print, a tulle skirt is another one of those wardrobe staples that never ever goes out of style.
This maxi from Needle & Thread is today’s fabulous find.
It is not too voluminous or too over the top; it’s just right. In real life it is truly a fabulous skirt. If you don’t want to wear it maxi, trim an inch or two off the hemline and make it your perfect length. That’s what I did.
I do love it when fashion goes our way… xv
